SALTWEATHER
SaltWeather distinguishes itself as a unique marine forecast application by offering simultaneous access to four highly reputable weather forecast models. This side-by-side comparison empowers users to assess the consistency among models, enhancing their confidence in weather predictions and facilitating informed go/no-go decisions for boating activities.

WEATHER FORECAST
The app delivers forecasts based on four leading weather models, available on an hourly basis for up to six days. Information includes sunrise and sunset times, as well as detailed weather parameters such as air temperature, precipitation, wind speed and direction, wave height, direction, and period.

OCEAN CONDITIONS
Ocean conditions are primarily derived from the GFS model, providing forecasts for tidal movements over a six-day period. Users can access daily high and low tide predictions, hourly tide height changes, moon phases, phytoplankton density, chlorophyll-a concentration, and sea surface temperature data.

WEATHER MODELS
SaltWeather allows users to view hourly forecasts from four of the most accurate weather models: ICON (German Weather Centre), GFS (NOAA), WWO (World Weather Center), and EURO (European Weather Centre). This feature enhances the accuracy and reliability of weather assessments.

PROPRIETARY BASEMAP
The developers have designed a custom basemap that streamlines navigation by minimizing unnecessary clutter found in standard NOAA maps. The basemap effectively highlights ocean contours with colored depths, complemented by precise contour lines that depict depth variations. Users can easily locate the 20 and 30 fathom lines.

SATELLITE OVERLAYS
Satellite overlay data is sourced from the Copernicus Ocean Data Centre and is refreshed daily. Three overlays are provided:

• Sea Surface Temperature
• Chlorophyll-a Concentration
• Ocean Currents

FREE TRIP PLANNING TOOLS
In addition to forecasting capabilities, SaltWeather offers complimentary tools to assist with boating and sailing plans. Features include Favorite Waypoints, distance measurement tools, and a GPS coordinate converter.

Notably, premium subscriptions do not auto-renew; customers may choose to renew at the conclusion of each annual term. Notifications will be sent via email seven days prior to subscription expiration.
